Earning points is a symbol of our own ACHIEVEMENT through our knowledge by answering a question. Earning 2pts for answering means that you exerted effort for answering, so you get 2pts. But if you are fortunate enough and be the best answerer, you get 10pts..it just gives you the feeling of accomplishment that you helped other people through your answer...

what if you answered a question which has over 50 answerers and you won as the best answer? ISN'T IT GREAT?! :)

I do really not care a bit of making points at all at yahoo answers. I deeply enjoy reading the questions of some "real" people out there in the world. Some much younger then me and some much older then me and all just human beings and this is what I love about this whole thing. It makes me feel connected to humans and I amuse myself to see what younger people worry about as I went through this myself and from the wiser or older I learn a lot and this gives me satisfaction. The people who went through what I myself went through I might give even some support. This is all I care about concerning this yahoo answers.
