global warming is not a myth, it is a real problem. But as you said, there are other problems as well, some seem more important to some people, it depends on the individual.
The problems of the world will never stop, when one thing is "solved" some other problem comes. For more info ont he global warming you can try checking out this site:

The earth if overpopulated. It is not a myth. Get the movie [The Day After Tomorrow}. It explains a lot about global warming and how it affects our planet.
As far as the welfare thing you are a 100% right on this. My wife works in a doctors office and it is unreal at the people coming in trying to get a disability check and there is nothing wrong with them. There has got to be a end to this somewhere and I keep waiting for it to happen. The working people are being sucked dry.
I am all for everyone that's drawing a check taking a drug test on a regular bases. I can't stand the idea of my tax dollars supporting a bunch of drug heads. After all I had to take a drug test to work. I assure you that half of the welfare and disability checks would be cut out if they would just do this.

The term you should be using is Climate Change, not global warming, because Cliamate change is real and has happened since day one of the earth. What is possibly the myth (and is looking more like a myth everyday) is that somehow humans have had a major impact on climate change especially in the form of greenhouse gases, particularily CO2. The largest greenhouse gas is actually water vapor not CO2 (Al Gore had to admit that before the Senate), yet we have been focused on CO2 by the environmentalists mainly because it targets 'big bad' oil and gas companies. Forget the fact that the environment is the biggest (by a long shot) producer of CO2, and that CO2 is what plants need to produce oxygen for us poor humans, it is an easy target to whip up support because it is being caused by oil and gas companies that are enjoying record profits. Sort of interesting that when the oil crisis in the 70's was on, they talked about the coming ice age, and now they are talking about global warming when the oil companies are doing well......

In the 80's global warming was already an issue. That you did not hear of it isn't an argument.
Scientists are more and more agreeing on the fact of global warming. This isn't new...they take forever to be scientifically convinced when on a personal level they already are sure. THAT's whats the deal here.
Fact: Global warming is caused by particles in the atmosphere, mainly carbon dioxide. This is what caused 'warming up' of the ice-age. This evidence is found in the polar caps. Today levels of carbon dioxide are 100 times plus the level they were EVER. The effect is very visible and fast.
Bigger things to worry about? I guess if you were to cut yourself while carving a turkey.. yeah that would be a bigger thing to worry about for you personally. And a war in Iraq may be important but this is a global killer.

Listen, I think you have it backwards. Yeah Iraq is a problem- and once Bush "goes away"- so will IT. But Global Warming is like that "distant thunder" you hear on a hot summers day; it's a BIG problem that's COMING... And right soon... And if you don't get ready for it- the NEXT disaster you hear about on the 11'o clock news, could be about what happend to YOUR life... So you can call it a "myth"- or call your Insurance Company. The choice- is yours. :)

It's not just a myth. Obviously more data and studies have been compiled since 80s. It's genuine concern, but politics involved make it very dividing issue.
And I don't think you can say for sure welfare cost more than unpaid taxes by millinaires & billionaires who find creative ways to cheat tax.
Global warming is big deal whether you believe it or not since policies on energy, energy industry, transportation...etc, all that and more will be influenced by debate on global warming. You might think it's hoax, but it will still have big impact on your life.

Is the earth warming? Yes. Is man making it happen? Most likely NOT.
I'm all for trying to keep our air clean, but not drastic measures.
Anyone that says, watch Gore's movie, it proves it, needs to think for themselves. Also try researching all the facts, not watching Al Gore. There is NO evidence that CO2 raises the Temp.. Look at a graph (not Al Gore's) that shows more than a 100 year span, the Temp. has been this high before. Anyone know how much of the atmosphere CO2 makes up? Around .0383% by volume, less then 1% of the atmosphere is going to kill us? I'm very skeptical.
Oh oh oh, let's not forget Al Gore's buddy owns the "energy" (carbon offset) company that Al Gore pushes. Al also has much stock in that company.

Back when I was a kid in the 70s they kept saying doom and gloom that we were headed into a global Ice Age. now its global warming.
Seems to me there has been global warming and global cooling for millions of years. well before man ever walked the face of the earth.
and for those that think we (humans) are causing global warming how do you explain that the Planet Mars is also warming and losing its Ice Caps????

The way snake-oil salesman Algore tells it , it is . The interview he gave Grist magazine sort of exposes his scheme to embellish ..The other clue ( besides good common sense & the scientists Gore hoodwinked their names from - but not their advice ..), was the energy bill Gore has every month , 20 times more than the average family in the USA . And , do tell-why won't Gore take the same pledge to use less energy , like he asked of average Americans ?

Not a myth, even though many people choose to ignore the situation and pretend it isn't happening.
