Remagen---it was wired for destruction but before it could be done, the Americans captured it. There is a movie about this incident "A Bridge Too Far" In reality, this was primarily a figure head because the Allies had already crossed the river with pantoon bridges both north and south of here.

Just for the info, Nuremburg is not on the Rhine river and was taken until near the end of the war.....

Remagen. / The bridge was damaged and the SS had wired it for detonation, but didn't blow it. Later the bridge did fall of it's own accord.
