If she is breastfed it is possible that her attachment could be improved so she has more control over the milk ducts. If she is having lots of shortish feeds it could be that she is not getting enough hind milk and this causes wind and green nappies.
In research studies showed that none of the colic medications such as infacol had any statistical effect, but h/visitors I have spoken to say that they suggest it so that the parents feel they are'doing something' about the problem.

Go see your Health Visitor, maybe the milk is the problem, she may have an intolerance, she could have Reflux, the Milk you are using may not be heavy enough and she needs something more to fill her up, the list needs to be exhausted until you find out what it is.
Both my Boy's had Colic, soooooo tiring, I know, but it did get better on it's own by the time they were 12 wks.

the solution for colic is starch water. it works so well. start like you are going to make a pot of rice. put enough water in the pan for a bottle. add a good hanful of rice to the water. heat the water just until the water turns white with the starch from the rice. strain the water into a bottle, make sure its not too hot and feed it to the baby. it works like a charm. discard the rice. i have tried this on several babies and it works every time.

to sooth a baby without taking the child for a car ride and wasting gas, put the child in the car seat, strap the child in securely, put a wet towel in the dryer, and a towel or rubber mat on top of the dryer, that is so the carseat wont slide around on top of the dryer. turn the dryer on. they will drift right off to sleep shortly. (never leave your child unattended (of course))
a warm bath with lavender soap and a foot massage right before they go to sleep every night will help them to sleep more hours at a time.

i hope something here helps you. good luck

I THINK COLIC IS CAUSED BY TRAPPED AIR. MY FIRST BABY HAD IT A LOT. WHY DON'T YOU TRY USING BOTTLES WITH THE BAGS INSIDE? THEY ARE MADE BY PLAYTEX AND HAVE PROVEN TO BE VERY EFFECTIVE. MAYBE YOU CAN TRY BURPING HER A LITTLE MORE AFTER FEEDINDS OR ASK YOUR PEDIATRICIAN IF HE CAN PRESCRIBE ANOTHER BABY FORMULA. I WAS USING REGULAR BABY BOTTLES WITH MY FIRST CHILD AND COLIC WAS ALWAYS AN ISSUE. I TRIED USING THESE OTHER BOTTLES AND TAKING OUT THE AIR BEFORE FEEDING BABY AND IT SEEMS TO WORK WONDERS WITH THIS NEW BABY. I KNOW THERE IS A FORMULA BY ENFAMIL FOR FUSSINESS AND GAS. SEE IF MAYBE YOU CAN SPEAK WITH THE BABY'S DOC AND SEE IF THEY HAVE A SAMPLE, BUT TRY THE BOTTLES FIRST. THEY ARE LIKE 4.00 EACH BUT WORTH IT, THEY MIGHT WORK. OH, AND SEE IF MAYBE YOU CAN GET THE DOC'S ADVICE TO STOP THE INFACOL. JUST UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHAT WORKS TO HELP FIX THE COLIC. I'M SURE YOU GUYS CAN COME TO AN AGREEMENT. AFTER ALL, DOC IS THERE FOR QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS TOO. IF THAT DOCTOR DOESN'T HELP YOU, THEN SEEK ANOTHER ONE'S ADVICE.

Is she projectile vomiting (the vomit literally shoots across the room)? If so she may have a condition called pyloric stenosis which needs medical attention. Babies with colic usually draw their legs up to their stomachs, but not always. If she's not projectile vomiting, I suggest ringing your Health Visitor in the first instance and ask her if she can come to see you at a feeding time so that she can observe your baby's behaviour. If she is projectile vomiting she needs to see the GP sooner rather than later (it's not an immediate emergency though so don't panic!).

Colic is when a baby is crying for at three hours per night, at least three nights per week, for at least three weeks, and there is no apparent reason for the crying.

Your baby probably has acid reflux and should be eating / digesting on about a 35 degree angle to help her tummy. A doctor could also prescribe a remedy.

hi my daughter suffered terribly with colic, she cried herself hoarse and felt like she was always hungry, i tried her with dr brown bottles they are a god send from the very first feed it all stoped i could'nt beleive it.

with my little boy he was quite sickly with his milk so i tried coleif drops you can buy them in most chemists, they break down the lactose in the babys milk as some babies find this hard to digest, some people beleive is the cause of colic, they can also be used in breast milk. you just pop 2 drops into the babys milk. this really helped him and has started sleeping through the night.

i tried infacol but i thought that it made them worst.

hope this helps

I would first check the bottle teats are not too faster flow for her. My secong child had very bad colic and I had to get something called colief, its quite expensive for such a tiny bottle but it worked very well. He had it that bad that the doctor gave him a prescription for it. I have found with my third that if her bottle is a little too warm she tends to splutter and choke a lot.
hope this helps

Colic can be as upsetting for a mom as it is for a baby. A colicky baby has long periods of sudden, loud crying and fussiness. What's frustrating is that no matter what you do, you can't seem to comfort him.

How do you know if your baby has colic? The only way to be sure is to see your baby's doctor. He or she can diagnose colic and, more importantly, rule out the possibility of a more serious condition
