Don't make any bets that Berkeley is harder to get into than UCLA. They are equally competitive. They both provide plenty of medical students to the world as well.
If your heart is telling you to be a Bruin, then head for Westmont and go to UCLA. You can't beat any UC education and it won't matter which UC you went to if you become active and involved, study and learn something. You'll be ready to take those MCATS and get into medical school no matter which one you pick.
Always, always, always follow your heart. And congratulations!!! UCLA and UCB are both excellent schools and you've done well to be accepted there!

The difference between rankings overall are miniscule; I don't know about biochemistry right now. If Berkeley is #1 and UCLA is #50, I would go for the better school, but if the difference is #4 v. #6, or something like that, it won't make any difference to you at all. Also, if you are miserable, you may not do too well, so I would go with UCLA, which is a perfectly good school.

Go with your gut, after all, you have to live there for 4 years. UCLA is a feeder school to its own Geffen School of Medicine, which is reputable, so you'll be fine. UCLA is just as competitive as Berkeley, so I wouldn't bank on getting better grades.

College is a huge investment -- money, time and energy. Both are good schools. Yes, Berkeley is better ranked but if you do well at either school, you should not have difficulty getting into medical school.
Make a pros and cons list for each school and see if those lists validate your gut feeling. The gut generally knows best.

Don't listen to your gut feeling. You should -
1. do research on the biochemistry program at each school.
2. perhaps sit in their classes or talk to alumni.
3. if you want a job after school, find out about their career services - i.e. recruiting opportunities, alumni connection, employment statistic, etc
4. if you want to continue to a master/phd, find out about the reputation of each program in term of their research opportunities. Go with the one that offers some research opportunities to the undergraduates.
5. If your eventual goal again is MS/PHD, make sure the school you choose has a stable set of professors, i.e. not too many visiting professors because they come and go and by the time you graduate, you still won't know any professor well enough to write you recommendation letters.
Good luck!

Based on your picture I am assuming you are a blonde. Yours is the type of question I would expect from a blonde. Go to UCLA and save the seat at the far superior school Cal for a more serious student.
GO USC

CAL would be a really good school to go to, but if you feel that UCLA is the way to go. both schools are pretty creditable for the future. really the choice is up to you, but remember regardless of where you go you would enjoy it there... congratulations by the way.

i think that UCB will be better. in the long run, it will help you get better jobs, get into better grad school, and benefit you more! UCB is the better school and higher ranked. i would choose UCLA, but you should go to UCB. a 3.5 at UCB is always better than a 4.5 at a community college with no prestige at all.
please choose UCB. you got accepted!

If you do not already live in the Bay Area, then go to UCLA.
We have way too many people in the Bay Area.
