Sometimes a completely brown period is evidence of an ovarian cyst. It is a typical non ovulatory discharge. You need to see your physician (pray it's a woman) and have them do a pelvic (or nowadays, ultrasound, maybe) to see if one of your ovaries is enlarged or has a cyst. You don't say how old you are, but I had this problem (it runs in my family). Each month the discharge lasted two days longer. I had a 21 day cycle to boot, so by the time I finally found out what was causing it (after seeing 5 male doctors and even asking if there was any evidence of cysts), I was having a discharge for 15 days a month. When I went to someone who knew what they were doing, I found out I had a cyst the size of an orange on one of my ovaries, and that my ovaries had hardened and couldn't release eggs. Two weeks later, she removed the cyst, did a wedge resecton on my ovaries (to give the eggs a soft place to come out), and 7 weeks later I was pregnant with my first child, and ever since, I had to be careful NOT to be. I used a diaphragm after that, because the newer pills made me spot. Needless to say, my husband wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole for two weeks out of every month, and it was really annoying when we wanted to have a child. The pill didn't cause it. The cyst had been there even before I went on the pill. I was only 23 at the time. I had been on the pill for 3 years, but only to regulate my periods and wait to have children when we were ready way back in the 70's. I had my tubes tied to stop being so fertile. Pills back then were stronger, and I always started red, not brown. I ended brown. I had a heavy period every three weeks, but I didn't start until I was 18, either. Weird, huh. Anyway, I would check with your doctor about this to make sure you don't have anything wrong with the innards before I got too worried.

Yes, it is normal to have brown blood with your period. All brown blood indicates is that the blood is old. I used to get old blood even when I wasn't on the pill for medical reasons.

I would recommend double checking with your dr to be on the safe side though.

Yup this sounds usual. i'm on Yasmin, very resembling Yaz. Your era would be diverse as quickly as you're on the delivery administration pills, it might desire to %. up greater the next day or not at all. some months I certainly have greater of a era than others.
