It doesn't matter how many of them you kill, unless you are willing to lay waste to everything over there. Unless you are willing to reduce every city of our enemies to rubble and destroy all the infrastructure except for the occasional sheep herder. you won't win their hearts and minds. it would take a huge force. effort and ten years to accomplish a limited goal. Are you really willing to escalate this...to start a draft to produce a force able to take on Iran as well as the other 2. What this fellow doesn't know is that his own part was not much more than any other single person. He was simply a sailor among many. His political position or perspective is no better than anyone else's...He doesn't know any more political facts or physical reasons for war than anyone else.
Unless you are willing to declare war on all Muslim countries, I would start believing in developing a strategy that includes more negotiation. we've proved a point by going to war over almost nothing in Iraq. That ought to make them realize that they have a reason to negotiate. Let's try not to inflame the situation
