I have done the correspondent course in vedic maths from Roorkee University ,Roorkee,Uttrakhand,INDIA
It is very interesting and easy way to learn maths & calculations etc.
I can give one example :
let we have to square the numbers ending with 5 such as 15,25,35,45,55,65,75,85,95 and so on.....
so square of 15=225(first 1*2=2,then put 25 in front of 2 i.e.225)
square of 25=625(2*3=6,put 25 i.e.625)
square of 35=1225(3*4=12,put 25 i.e.1225)
so we can say any number ending with 5 first multiply the number (say x)on the left of 5 with the number (x+1),i.e.
x*(x+1),then put 25,i.e. the final value is [x*(x+1)25]

Yes,
To know about Vedic Maths, you should know about Veda.
The Vedas are the ancient scriptures or revelation of the Hindu teachings.
The Vedas were compiled around 3500 B.C. and even at that time were hardly understood. Hence they are very ancient and only in recent times has their spiritual import,
The Vedas have sub divisions called Vedanga. One of the Vedanga is Jyothishya Shastra which focus on astronomy.
During the development of Jyothishya Shastra people used Vedic Mathamatics for all types of calculation.
You will be surprised if you know that the calculations of eclipses were very acurate at that time. Even the Pythagoras theorem for right angle triangle is there in Vedic Maths in the form of a quiz.
