convinced it really is available. The Selective service device remains in position, men nevertheless ought to sign up with it. notwithstanding, if there is yet another draft it may should be a well-recognized draft, probable depending upon a lottery device. females can should be protected too as you do not should be a male to fly wrestle jets, fly tanker jets, artwork as a nurse or healthcare specialist or chaplain. There should be no justification to draft a guy to a non-wrestle interest without sharing the duty with females. and do not imagine drafting females gained't take position. for the time of Vietnam they could no longer get adequate nurses to volunteer so that that they had a particular draft of 900 MALE nurses. on the instant a in structure should be filed using sexual discrimination and in the adventure that they prefer to draft nurses, they could ought to pass after the girls besides because the boys. Aint equivalent rights for females brilliant?

well, it would be more fair if there were a draft. wars wouldn't just be fought by the youngster looking for a way to get a college education and some health insurance. of course people like GW would still have the connections to get out of actually having to face danger but maybe these war whoopers so hot for the death and destruction of foreigners wouldn't be so enthusiastic if it were their kid's butt on the line.

a draft hasn't been instituted not because we don't need more troops (our military is stretched dangerously thin right now) but because a draft would cause MASSIVE street protests like it did during Nam (hell no we won't go!), protests so massive that not even the "liberal" media could ignore them.

and fer sure ... the Bush Twins should be first in line for their new desert camo fashion statement.

No the draft, when I was drafted, was totally unfair. I was on a student deferment for college and was drafted because the rich mothers on the draft board did not want their sons drafted.

Now, Mandatory service upon graduating high school, yes!

No, you are moving in the wrong direction.
You should cut the war short, bring the troops back and give them the very best in medical and psychiatric care.
It is a very traumatic experience going to Iraq and Afghanistan.
You don't want to continue this war and start drafting young men and women to fight for a government that doesn't want American troops there.

No draft.

Mandatory 2 year service between the age of 18-25 is needed.
This will ensure that all young people have a vested interest in our Nation.

It's coming, regardless what anyone thinks. It will have to, especially if we face a two or three-pronged war with major powers. We barely have enough National Guard troops to handle assignments here back in the States. There are some army units that are on their 3rd and 4th tours of duty because of shortages of manpower. My neice was wounded, her "buddy" killed. She's had 3 surgeries. She's going back for her 3rd tour in October to train Surge troops. I see a draft out of necessity, no doubt in my mind it will happen within 3-5 years.

I think some basic level of citizenship, safety, and militia (in the Revolutionary War concept) should be a requirement...

...but not a draft for "expeditionary" or professional military that requires a bit higher level of motivation and commitment to be successful.

Women should have to register for selective service because citizenship should come with equal responsibilities for men and women. Female sex is not a disability and any woman who refuses to litigate to demand the responsibility of selective service is a misandrist ****, especially if she is from Illinois.

yes without deferments except for the disabled, I think a compulsory universal service is called for, it doesnt have to just be fr the military, but civi duites such as changing bed pans, picking up litter or responding to needs in emergencies should be included

no, we've had drafts before.
first they are unamerican- free country means you choose what you do

secondly if you don't want to be there you will not fight well.
in vietnam when each drafted soldier had a 2 year term they just sat there and tried to stay alive for 2 years.
