Because they do! Sometimes men of this age feel like they are trying to capture their youth by getting involved with someone younger. He also could not like women his own age...there are a lot of possibilities here. But, the thing is, he has children living at home, which makes him attached so I would be really careful to get very involved with him unless you are sure there is a future and he is totally sincere. When you are 33 which will be the prime of your life, he will be 60, almost social security age...when you are in your 40's, which is still young and vibrant for a female...he is 70 etc...or even not around...think long and hard about it. You have your entire life ahead of you...he does not. Perhaps you make him feel young...or perhaps he just wants to have relations with a young woman...just be careful.

Wow!! Now, that's really a age gap. Has he lost his mind? Age is not the only gap. This is a complete generation gap. They probably have difference in maturity, life experiences, friends, music, conversation, etc. He must be going though a mid-life crisis.
Man, how old is his kids? They a probably around the same age that this 23 yrs old is.

If it's not to large of a gap, It won't be as difficult. however, the older mate will need to have patience. The younger will have to go through trial and error to find their place. a part of life is growing up......and that takes time, it takes time to go through lifes changes. It can be the most wonderful thing it depends on the maturity of the two. Sex may and may not be an issue I know men who are in their 80's
and they do fine. An older man will not be so rush rush. when it comes to intimacy he's apt to be more romantic. I believe in the above mentioned...... if they are not married the woman is most likely being used.

Maybe they really do have genuine feelings for each other. I am 28 and my guy is 51. We have been together for 4 years, been living together for 3 years and just got engaged 6 months ago. I plan to spend my life with him. No-one outside a relationship can judge the merits of it. If it is just a superficial thing, it wont last anyway.

Age really doesn't matter. I am 19 and I am engaged to a 45 year old man. Everyone is saying mean comments like "Did he order her off the internet?" (because I am Russian, so I must be "mail-order bride") or just acting rude when they find out the big difference. It's definitely more challenging, but it can be very worth it.

As long as they love each other, more power to them. I'm getting married to a guy 13 years older than me. He has a 33 year old, 15 year old and 5 year old. He treats my 17 year old as if she were his own.

He needs to know that he still "got it". He's selfish and using this young nieve young girl. I'm sure he loves the way people look at this "trophie" girlfriend. This truely is sad.
