She is hugging him all the time, she goes out with him and her girlfriend, but I am afraid that when he leaves she falls in a depression state.

What can I do to cheer her up when he is not here.

Have her stay in touch with through the computer. Set a time aside every night for them to talk on here. You also may want to get a web-cam. This is the way some grandparents keep in touch with their grand kids. Make it a family affair. By any chance is there a father in the house? Your daughter might look to him as a father figure and this really IS going to be rough on her. Get her stationary, stamps, and a few disposable cameras for him to send pics to her of the things around him. This will help bridge the gap while he is away.

Hearing only a little bit a bout your family; you should get a "best moms award". It sounds like you've done not just something right but everything right. About your question.... it's a tough one. I would find the nicest picture frame I could find and put a really nice picture of your son in it, so that way she can see him whenever she wants. Get her some nice paper that she can write to him (not regular paper, but something that shows her personality), a book of stamps, envelopes, and a calling card. It will let her know that he's only a stamp away. Do it as a gift. So that way if she ever gets lonely, she'll write him and it won't seem so bad. Good luck.

Promise her that she can talk to big brother on the phone often, and visit him (if possible). Make arrangements for him to spend holidays at home. Set up an e-mail account between them to share pictures, or have them share pictures by phone. Children are very resilient. She will bounce back pretty quickly, especially now that she has your full attention!!

ive been in the same situation and nothing can comfort a girl being separated from her brother, someone she loves and cares for so much....all you can do is give her time to heal on her own....every person has drama to go through and maybe this is the begining of what will make her the great and talented person that she will become
