The difference is the Octane rating. Octane is a rating system for the gas to represent the anti-knocking performance of pertroleum based fuel. The higher the rating the better anti-knock. Knocking is a sound your engine makes when at high RPMs if the octane is not high enough. High performance vehicles need higher octane gas because they typically run at higher RPMs.

The octane rating. Some higher performance engines need to use a fuel with a higher octane rating. Most all normal production models will run quite well on the so called regular grade though and there are those that will tell you they think their vehicle runs better on a higher rating, but that is arguable.

i'm hoping you probably did no longer pay too lots for that direction. properly, easily, they have been superb for somewhat previous automobiles. each and all of the extra recent automobiles have "knock sensors" which help the engine workstation adjust the ignition timing to only earlier the engine starts to knock. Now the better octane gas is extra proof against knocking, so in case you refill with that belongings you wil, in concept, be waiting to get extra ability from the engine. Assuming the workstation is lax adequate to push the timing that a procedures. yet below accepted using circumstances you will no longer word any distinction in any respect. in case you're using uphill in Arizona pulling a trailer it might make a gentle distinction.

There is a difference but car manufacturers say that it doesnt really matter. From what i hear if you switch from premium to regular you MIGHT lose a COUPLE of horses under the hood.
