Smell it. Water doesn't smell like anything. Gas smells like, well, gas. You would have some pretty serious problems if liquid gas was coming out of your muffler.

If it's cold out, and you just fired up your motor, chances are what you are seeing coming out of the muffler is condensation. Cold pipes, turning warm...produces water.
You really wouldn't get gasoline coming out of your muffler. And if you did, God knows how...........you would smell it.

codensation is normal out of a muffler. there is actually a drain hole in the muffler. if it was gas you would have bigger issues such as fire. remember the cat gets to roughly 1000 degrees, easily enough to set fuel on fire.

Because it is fact H2O (water) is a byproduct of combustion. Condensation? Not so much, just on first few minutes after startup, as exhaust pipes heat rapidly initial condensation expelled evaporated rapidly. Continuing /Ongoing after warm-up is water produced by engine

if the engine is running correctly, it is almost impossible to get gas coming out of your exhaust. that is just condonsation, just like cupping your hands over your mouth, and blowing hot air... your hands become moist just like the exhaust on the car. there is no way to get gasoline out of a tailpipe, of a well running vehicle, the gas would have burned already, and if that was gas, than there would be flames shooting out of your tail pipe.

if you can collect it then just mix it with some gas. if it's water the gas should rise above, if it's gas ... you have a problem. probably ignition.
