What would be some reasons for a guy not to be ready for marriage?

because he wants to be further along in his career
he wants to be able to buy a house before
he wants to not be in debt from the wedding
he cant cut the apron strings with mom
you just arent the one

He is just not ready for that responsibility. He wants to be ready financially. He is immature to be a husband. Fear. Afraid he will fail in all aspects of marriage. Wants to stay single. Doesn't want to be committed. Doesn't have a good job to support a wife and family. Is career oriented and doesn't need someone to hold him back from his dream.

Haven't found the right person yet. Need to finish school or start a career first. Not ready to take on the responsibility of taking care of another person.

Further his career, play the field, go travelling, not the marrying kind, not enough money saved up to buy a house. Already married and not divorced....the list is endless. Or quite simply does not want to marry you and it is his way of letting you down gently.

Age, maturity, not ready to settle down, wants to experience more/other women, wants to be settled in his career, wants to really REALLY know what he wants out of life .....lots of reasons....you need to ask the guy in question.

Despite what they say, most men DO want to get married.
If he is telling you that he is not ready, it simply means he doesn't want to marry you. Move on and find another...you deserve better!

Would you be "ready" to go to jail? I didn't think so. This is EXACTLY what marriage is for a guy and DON'T even try to deny it.

He needs to be financially sound, career stable, good planning for the future and all this is necessary to provide a healthy and happy home for his future wife to be.

Does not want to commit to a relationship with just one woman.
Does not want to make the compromises that are always required when living with another person.
Does not want someone telling him what to do or asking him to change his ways.
Family disapproval.
Family approval - he does not want another mom.
