Why are most so $hitty on the inside? Seriously, I guess this is the case with most attractive men, regardless of sexual orientation, but since I've mostly experienced this with gay men, I feel compelled to point it out. All of the attractive gay men I've met have either been junkies, users, liars, only interested in sex, narcissists, completely superficial, etc. I've gotten to the point now that even if an attractive guy approaches me, if he even sounds remotely superficial or sketchy, I totally get turned off and can't deal with him bc my experiences have taught me that bc he's attractive, he most likely thinks the world will kiss his @$$. Sadly, this is often true in our community, even if he is a total @$$hole. I think the gay community needs a wake-up call...instead of promoting "hotness" as the most important aspect of life, we should really try to cultivate meaningful lives, lives of compassion and service rather than sex and drugs. Any thoughts?

Time to give the non-hottie in the corner a chance, honey.

As a cute young guy (well, a former young guy...still cute) I don't think this is a fair assessment. At the very least you are stereotyping. I guess part of the question is where are you going to meet these men? If you're just meeting guys at bars, this is a place where guys are often just going to hook-up anyway.

As for the Queer community placing too much importance on looks, I don't think this is a function of the Queer community but of American culture. Look at our ads if you doubt it.

Hang in there. You'll meet someone who doesn't treat you like a jerk. Try some other venues to meet other guys.

I don't know... I've been with some real hottys and we've had some great times...Don't let your experiences get you down, people from all walks of life can exhibit negitvity... We are all responsible for our own issues in this world you just have to stay on top of things and learn rather than be angry....

High school was the same. Remember the "stupid jocks" and the chicks that flocked ?

Hey dude...stay away from what you don't like.

I play soccer and snowboard and belong to a book club. I've met some very "sane" cute gay dudes.

A believe a high five is in order on this one; too bad it's not just gays that put a high value on outward appearance though.

Men's "Health" seems to advocate steriod use through pictures of unnatural physiques.

And anorexia is getting a little too mainstream.

yeah I would have to agree with your viewpoint.
I think that you should give other types of men your love and interest. Go honey!!! don't bother with twinks when there is bears, daddies, leather just don't go for pigs though they are unclean shaved it doesn't matter but I think you will find that you never find a penis you don't like.

I don't think all attractive gay men fit this description...but you are right there is a segment that I could just smack really hard.

That is some harsh stereotyping. It takes a village.

Being gay is a perversion of nature, men aren't made to be compassionate etc toward eachother, so learn to be straight and go after hot girls
