1) Create a blog pertaining to your field
2) Use Yahoo! Local & Yahoo! Groups – Be sure to read the TOS for each one!
3) Write articles pertaining to your field and/or expertise.
4) Advertise on Craiglist
Also, consider signing up for an affiliate program. These programs enable you to advertise on other's sites (your affiliates) and once a sale is made to you, your affiliates & the program are paid a commission.

One way is to do an "market survey/feedback" and "Online advertisement. Presuming you already have a website, you can skip the tedious process of getting indexed by the search engine by short cutting it with Google Adwords. Its a paid advt and you can tailor your advt and budget on a daily and a period basis. The advt appears immediately [well almost 15 to 30 mins] You can also have advt variation to see which ones worked better. And twich it as it goes.
