I'm 15 years old, dad says i'm gonna get a new comp soon. I get to choose (not something crazy expensive) which desktop.

I want to get a computer which is between okay and good for gaming i.e. will play games e.g. Warcraft 3, runescape,
PERHAPS WoW and ea rugby 06 etc. but nothing crazy like battlefield 2142. However my priorities are mainly blogging using e.g. facebook etc. and doing work.

these are the 2 comps i'm either gonna get:

-HP Pavilion Intel Pentuim D 3.00Ghz
-1 GB RAM
-Intel GMA 950 (graphics card - doesn't show how much memory it has on the leaflet)
-320 GB harddrive memory
- $7998 Hong kong dollars ($999 US dollars)

or

-HP Pavilion intel core 2 duo (processor) 2.13 Ghz
-1 GB RAM
-500GB Harddrive memory
-NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE PCI-Express 3D (graphics card - 256 MB)
-$9998 Hong Kong dollars ($1249 US dollars)

Guys which comp do you think BEST suits my needs???

sorry if i didn't provide enough data... i'm no PC expert =(

The first one with the pentium D has integrated graphics, you wont be able to play any games on that one, go for the core 2 duo, it has a nice graphics card that will even play todays games.....

The Core 2 Duo processor is superior to the Pentium D. Also the Core 2 Computer has its own Graphics card. Where as the Other only has an Onboard Graphics chip. Onboard Graphics does not do well for games.

Good luck

the two programs look almost same to me. the two have: - Intel middle 2 Quad Q8200 - 8 GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-6400) - Nvidia GT120 is the hot call (rebranding) for the Nvidia 9500, so those photographs enjoying cards are genuinely the comparable. One has 512 MB of dedicated RAM and the different as much as a million GB, it incredibly is probably 512 MB of dedicated RAM and as much as a minimum of one extra 512 MB of your equipment RAM. - 6 USB and a pair of Firewire ports - Vista living house top classification sixty 4-bit with SP1 (necessary to handle the quantity of RAM they have because of the fact that they have extra effective than 4GB) - comparable DVD writing potential. It appears like the two have LightScribe yet basically the HP mentions it through call. - under pressure Ethernet - Modem. The HP has a 750 GB HD - The Gateway has 640. The HP has geared up-in 802.11n on the spot The Gateway has a geared up-in HD television tuner (you need to use the laptop like a DVR in case you hook cable television, direct television, etc to it). The Gateway has 15-in-a million media reader and the HP has some sort of media reader. they are very close to to a minimum of one yet another.

Don't go by price. Equally as important is good support - trust me on this.

Judging by your specs, you must intend to do some serious work - or noodle in games, music and movies. Anything with graphics consumes RAM.

I have two Dells - a 2400 and a 3000. By regularly watching weekly, competing ads and their web sites, I paid $299 and got a free shipping special. You can also get good deals by checking regularly for refurbished.

I have 512mbRAM and have no problem running 2 or 3 programs simultaneously, however, my wallpaper and screensaver are blank and none, and I do not do games. My PCs are used for word processing, spreadsheets, merging, pamphlets, flyers, forms - doesn't look like anything you'd be interested in.

Just go for the second one. It has a Intel Core 2 Duo processor which is quite better than PD. It also has a nice graphics card good for gaming and VISTA.

certainly the 2nd one (costs $1249), it's not about the money,
here are few reasons:

- core 2 duo is better than Pen D
- 3D graphic card (good for gaming), plus 256mb is good
- has more HD spaces (500 vs 320)

Since you do abit of gaming, the $1249 is better in turns of price. And for $250 more, you can get much more out of it.

go for the intel dual core, have at least 2 gb of memory, vista is a hog, and your nvida card can grab another 256mb memory via the pci-e slot.

As others have said get the second one, but upgrade to AT LEAST 2GB of ram. Vista uses about 500mb just to run.
