firewire hub help?

My business technology teacher wants to set up firewire in her room, but doesn't want to have to install 40 firewire cards on her computers..... She is wanting to know a way to hook a hub(or something else external) up by firewire to video cameras, and the out on the hub being USB 2.0 to a server/large hard drive. How can she do this??

you have not said if there is a server in the room... thats a need to know before this can be answered
