It is possible that another fish ate his eye. You don't tell us what kind of fish it is or what else is in with it. Other fish will also start eating sick fish even if you don't have aggressive fish in your tank.

He'll probably be fine if it's just the eye, with no underlying cause. I once dropped one of those big black pop-eyed goldfish on the floor accidentally when I was cleaning his fish bowl. Well, he must have hit the floor pretty hard, cause he was missing an eye when I put him back into his cleaned bowl. That fish lived quite a long time after that! I can look back and laugh at that episode now. I was only 12 then and it totally freaked me out.
Unless yours is an extremely expensive fish, or unless all your fish get sick, I wouldn't worry about seeing a vet.
BTW, you don't have a beta fish mixed in with others, do you? Betas will harm other fish. Actually, any fish can harm another, but some are much more agressive than others.

NO! Not unless it had a fungus. I would go with 8 in the ... answer, and check to see if the fish has fins that have been nibbled on as well. Sometimes you can't have one species or gender of fish with the other or they will fight to kill or maim (Siamese fighting fish males?) Watch the tank. See who's doing it. Identify the species, and then remove the fish from the tank. Then talk to your pet store that sold you the fish or look up both species on the internet and find out about behavior in both the species. If it's a dominance issue, save its life and take it back to the store.

fish with one eye will be fine, no need to visit a vetrenarian unless it is an expensive fish, nothing they can do now. It was probably attacked by another fish and this will continue until you remove one of them, it is good to have another small "hospital" tank to move a fish to until it is healed. Sometimes you have to separate fish from one another because of aggressiveness, that is why us fish lovers end up with so many tanks!

Your fish did conflict with yet another fish , it lost that's eye interior the conflict. The lips are swollen from charging the different fish. you could desire to get the injured fish out , like now . you could attempt scientific care by getting the salt point of two tablespoons of aquarium salt consistent with gallon and a temp of 80 ranges F. you could save the fish yet do no longer placed it back interior the main tank. Angelfish and rainbow sharks are in those variety of fights as are all cichlids.

umm, i never heard that before about fishes looseing a eye. but i would not still keep the fish with rest of other fishes in same tank. you should take it out and replace it into a jar or even glass bowl with water so it can be safe . you should bring or even talk to youre veterinarina if thats really nornal for a fish to have one eye and lost the other one some where else.

It should be fine as long as it has one eye but might have trouble if another fish is eating its eye.

one of the other fish is more agressive that lives in that tank and it ate the weaker fishes eye
best suggestion is either figure out who the aggressive fish is and put it in another tank, especially if it is attacking other fish in the tank
...or feed them more...like 2x day morning and night....
that fish will live a long time with no further attacks.
