1-2 pellets per feeding is totally normal You shouldn't feed more than that. Once or twice a day is best as well.

I have two Betas (or Japanese fighting fish)..Mine usually eat 3-4 pellets a day.

A healthy betta will eat all you give him. Even if you feed him 5 times a day he will still seem hungry to you. Fish cannot control their eating habits, so we have to control it for them.Overfeeding is one of the main reasons for fish diseases and deaths.
I think, as long as he is eating, he is fine. You may wanna check your water temps. When it gets cold they don't wanna eat much.
Also, it depends on how old he is. Normally they live for 2-3yrs and if extremely well cared for they can go upto 5-6yrs. You have had him for 1yr, now it depends on how old he was when you got him cos when they get old they tend to eat less.

Fish don't eat alot of food, the have very small stomachs, Also fish have a mind spand of 30 seconds so if you over feed them, they can die so be careful. I have several fish, none are beta's, but some are about the same size as yours & I also have a HUGE Oscar & he doesn't eat much either, so you should only feed him a pinch of food.

perfectly normal. they shouldn't eat more than 6 a day, 4 a day is average, but 2 or 3 a day isn't bad. they have tiny little bellies. too much food and they'll get constipated.
