In calculus and other branches of mathematical analysis, an indeterminate form is an algebraic expression obtained in the context of limits. Limits involving algebraic operations are often performed by replacing subexpressions by their limits; if the expression obtained after this substitution does not give enough information to determine the original limit, it is known as an indeterminate form. The indeterminate forms include 00, 0/0, 1∞, ∞ - ∞, ∞/∞, 0⋅∞, and ∞0.

Here's a way of thinking about this problem:
Every division problem is a "backwards multiplication" problem, right? 6/3 is asking the question, "Three times what is 6?" And of course 2 is the right answer.
Now, try 0/0. It is asking the question, "zero times what is zero?" And of course you might immediately say 0, but then zero times 1 is zero, and zero times 2 is zero, and zero times 3.8938241 is zero. Because any number will answer that question, we say that 0/0 is "indeterminate".
The same goes for 0 to the 0 power, too.

The answer is undefined, because anything over 0 is undefined.
In the topic of limits (Calculus), we talk about the form [0/0], and within that context, this is called an indeterminate form.

It is called indeterminate. In various situations one can argue that 0/0 = infinity, 1 or 0, of which all can't be true at once.

Hi. Not sure. Any NORMAL number divided by itself is 1. But, by definition any number divided by 0 is undefined. Which takes precedence? Math majors?
