I tend to hold things back. I, too, have made the promise to myself to speak my mind more. It's hard to get it started, but once you do it for the first time, it's easier and will just keep getting easier the more you do it. Just remember you're not alone and some strange girl from another state is going through the same thing. I'm tired of people walking all over me, so I'm doing something about it and it sounds like you are ready to do the same. Way to go!!

I personally speak my mind. It's not good to hold back when you really feel you need to let someone know how you feel about a situation. Holding it in will just bother you deeply later and make you feel regretful that you didn't just say whats on your mind to the person when you had the chance. Just say what you have to say when necessary and be tactful about it.

Well I get into trouble a lot for speaking my mind.. I mean it's true everybody needs a backbone.. Also sometimes it's ok to bite your tounge.. But remember the more you bite your tounge the more it'll bleed. So try to not hold things back that you feel like you should say

Good for you. Of course always be respectful when speaking your mind, and speak your truth with kindness, but definitely don't hold things back, b/c that can hurt your emotional health. Good luck as you move forward with this.

I speak my mind but I might wait until I it is safe to do so. Like at my job or when I want to tell a friend something personal. So maybe I do hold at times.

It depends on the situation and who I am around. When I'm around my family, I sometimes speak my mind but sometimes I hold things back. When I'm in public, I definitely hold things back.

The older I get, the more important I find it is to speak my mind, because if you don't people tend to walk all over you!! I guess there is some truth when they say with age comes wisdom, and I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth!!!

Well I speak my mind, sometimes when I shouldn't.
Then I hold things back, and people
get mad because I do. They say, wow
Liz you should've said something.
It's frustrating. But, most of the time,
I can control myself and speak my mind
when needed to, and hold back when
it's necessary too. I have learned,
but it took forever!

I speak my mind. I will say initially it got me into a lot of trouble because people were not used to my bluntness. But as I got older I learned how to say what I feel, without hurting or offending people. I suggest that you try that too.
