Fertility docs usually have you wait until you have been ttc for 1 year, unless you are older. First thing they'll do is check you both out completely. You with an exam, us, blood work, etc. Hubby with a sperm analysis. Then they will go from there. Most likely clomid or something of the sort to start with. Good luck on the quest!! :-)

Unless you're over the age of 35, docs won't really take much interest until you've been trying for at least a year.

If you still aren't pregnant at the year mark, have your husband tested first for infertility. The tests for a man are less invasive. Then they'll start testing you. There are a number of treatments and drugs out there to help women conceive these days. My sis got pregnant and had twins on Clomid. We have other friends who have gone through multiple rounds of invitro and still don't have kids, so there's really no guarantee.

We had been ttc for just over 12 months when I went to see the doc and the firs thing he did was book me in for a laparoscopy - that is, a day surgery where they insert a camera into your womb to make sure everything is working as it should. He also ran a dye through everything at the same time to check for blockages and finally performed a dilate and curate (basically cleaned everything out).

I am still waiting for my follow up appointment but I think a lapo is generally the first step, after that its fertility drugs and things like IVF.

Good luck :o)

ovulation occurs on the 14th day after you start your cycle, so if your cycle starts on may 1st your ovulation would be on may 14th you can also get a ovulation test , they also sell fertility monitors at cs and walgreens and they are expensive about 200 dollars but that's not too bad if you really want to conceive. some women run a light fever of 99.9 during ovulation and some women have mild cramps during ovulation. good luck I hope this information has helped you

The last time I went to a doctor about fertility issues/lack of children, she signed adoption paperwork for me. It worked. That was in September. A toddler and a preschooler arrived last Friday.
