I need to clean out some room on my hard drive, and I want to eliminate some programs and pictures, and I see some pictures are measured in kilobytes and others in megabytes. Which ones are larger? Gigabytes are the largest, then what comes after that, etc. on down the line.

TB is greater than GB, GB is greater than MB, MB is greater than KB

1 megabyte = 1024 Kilobyte
1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabyte
1 Terabyte = 1024 Gigabyte

KB = Kilobyte
MB= Megabyte
GB= Gigabyte
TB= Terabyte

From smallest to largest:

bit
byte
kilobyte
megabyte
gigabyte
terabyte
petabyte
exabyte

The last three are so huge you will probably only see them in very large commercial and government computers.

Kilo means thousand, mega means million. Did you flunk basic math class? EDIT: Then you have the usual dimwit expressing memory sizes. I see NOWHERE in the question where they are asking about RAM. What if he is talking file size? You wanna try and tell me a 586 kilobyte file is more than 586 kilobytes? Some of you people need to quit trying to impress others when you fail miserably at English comprehension.

1 bit = a character
1 byte = 8 bits
1 kilobyte (kb) = 1024 bytes
1 meg = 1024 kb
