I'm going to visit a friend for a belated birthday weekend, she has a Netflix account and is wondering what movie to have for that weekend, I'm bringing up 3 dvds already.

(Nothing to do in that town, believe me).

I'm into comedies (nothing nasty), and she is into dramas, we would realy appreciate some good movies suggestions. Movie's that are available on DVD.

Not:
Stranger Than Fiction
The Guardian
The Illusionist

(We have seen these all very recently)

Ma Vie en Rose is a great french film that is both sad and funny. It's about a little boy who thinks he is supposed to be a girl.

The Edukators is a german movie about a groups of kids who break into rich peoples houses to rearrange their furniture. It wasn't amazing, but worth watching.

Saved! is great if you prefer american films - very funny in a sarcastic manner.

Little Miss Sunshine was spectacular, although the grandfather swears a lot - don't know if that qualifies as "nasty" or not.

Emma is a great flick from a while ago. Two girls would probably love it (Clueless was based off of it).

The best movie of last year was The Departed but if you are in to comedy and she likes drama then give Garden State a shot. Funny but with plenty of levity.

If you're looking for comedy and drama, I would suggest Last Holiday and Secondhand Lions since they could be seen as both.

Darn, I was going to say Stranger Than Fiction! If you want a mix of comedy and drama...I'd probably say Little Miss Sunshine. I think you'd both enjoy it.

If you like Nicolas Cage, I will suggest you get "Lord of War." It may satisfy both of you. If you are into classics, you may enjoy "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne. As to animation, nothing better than "Ice Age 2."
