Since this is a right triangle, the legs are the base & height so
A=1/2 bh
A=1/2 *10*24
A=120 in^2

Since it is given to be a right angle triangle, it follows that it must have a longest side, the hypotenuse. Since 26 is the longest side, it follows that 26 is the hypotenuse, meaning 24 and 10 are the base and height.

Since the area of a triangle is

A = (1/2)bh

Then it won't matter which is the base and which is the height (as multiplication is commutative). b = 10, h = 24.

A = (1/2)(10)(24)
A = 5(24)
A = 120 inches squared.

the equation for the area of a right triangle is (1/2) base * height. or (1/2)bh.

set the triangle up so that the
base=24
and the
height = 10.

So the area equals (1/2)*24*10 = 120

The are of a right triangle is 1/2 x b x h. The base and height are 10 and 24, since the hypoteneuse is always longer and would be 26 in this case. apply the formula and the answer would be 120.

area = (10x24)/2 = 120.

Remember the area = base x height / 2.
The two shorter sides of a triangle can be base or height. Just ignore the longer side.

The area of a right triangle is half the product of the
2 legs.
So area = 1/2*10*24 = 120 in².
