well the hersheys kiss is almost a cone if you look at it. So you could do the equation for the volume and surface area of a cone.

Or for the volume you could drop it into a graduate cylinder and see how much the water rises to give you the volume.

A clever way to find the surface area would be to use the wrapper of the hersheys kiss.

Unwrap the wrapper and measure the area. then weigh the wrapper so that you can get a ratio of the area to the weight. Then you can carefully wrap just enough of the hersheys kiss with the wrapper so that none of hte wrapper overlaps itself and you throw away the rest of the wrapper. Then unwrap the kiss and weigh the wrapper. Using your ratio that you found out earlier you can set up a proportion and you can get pretty close to the surface area.

Or you could say that the volume and surface are are equal to zero because you ate the hersheys kiss while trying to figure it out. HA

I assume you mean mathematically, since there ARE ways to measure it. You need a function to describe the kiss. Once you have that, there are formulas to find surface area (a double integral) and volume (a triple integral).

Estimate by choosing one of the cones on the following link and substituting in your values for height, base radius, and slant height:
