I mean I have seen people who have known each other for maybe 2 hours refer to each other as their friend. What time in a relationship can you consider someone to be your friend?

There is a difference in being a friend and an aquaintance. In your whole life a person will truly have only a handfull of people they can call friend. That's if you are lucky. The others are only aquaintances, and those can come and go. Your true friend will be there with you in good and bad times. When you realize both of you, that you can tell each other anything and even if you fight, you never stay angry, Then I'd say you were bdcoming friends. All your lifetime you are learning about each other. I'm married and have been with my husband for over 30yrs and we are still searning about each other. fHe is my best friend, and to this day I can't say when I realized it. It just happens if it is meant to.

To call some one a true friend it takes years to be a real friend. It takes that long to find out if you can trust them.
