Is my friend pretty? Here is what she says:
I am 11 years old, about 5 feet 3 inches and fairly thin (about 80 lbs.) I have short ( a few inches above my shoulders) blonde curly hair. I have long legs and arms, a little bit of a chest and blue-green eyes. I have very dry skin and no pimples.
I normally wear jeans and t-shirts (usually plain or hip length). I also like polo shirts. I don't normally wear makeup, however if I feel like it, I wear eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss.
As for personality, I love animals and my friends and family. I love to swim, and I also play clarinet because my parents make me. I am in an advanced choir and I love it. I'm homeschooled but still don't like school much.

I have a heart- shaped face and full lips. I have a nose that's in proportion to my body, however not a cute ski jump nose.

There is NO WAY I can quit, my dad teaches it and my mom played it. My parents are strict & I've asked so many times if I can quit.

at age 11 you are far too young to be worrying about how pretty you are. You really should be thinking about other things. DO NOT OBSESS OVER WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE!!!!!!!!!!! This is highly unhealthy. If someone tries to make you feel bad because of the way you look just shrug them off and don't care. It makes life so much easier.

I think being a nice person is more important than looking like a magazine cover, and I've met a lot of other people who think that way too. Most of those weren't in middle school with me though, so maybe the best thing to do is make sure you stay healthy and keep enjoying your swimming and choir try to do the best you can with school and the clarinet. I won't tell you not to worry about being pretty, but I will tell you that there's always going to be someone who says you're ugly... and there's *always* going to be someone who thinks you're beautiful. The difference is, the first person will be hard to ignore (probably because *they're* worried about being pretty too) and the second person might never speak up.

Of course you are pretty. No pimples? Oh hell yeah!!!!!! I didn't either! LOL! No buckets of Clearasil? LOL! Give yourself a whack on the back for that ace in the hole!!!! :) You sound like a lovely little lady. A bit skinny (just like me...lol), and guess what i have discovered? A bit later on in your wonderful life, you are going to find out that you are gorgeous and have been for many years, in the eyes of those who you never thought were remotely interested. Sweetie? Young men and the way they look at women isn't what is important. Believe me. I was just like you but 2 inches shorter all through high school. I know it is really important to be as beautiful as you can be, but remember, the most important person to impress is you. Believe it or not? All of those boys from high school will disappear one day. In fact, as sad as it is, most high school friends never see each other again. The ones you do hang on to are special indeed and truly, and I do mean 'TRULY' love you for you. Fat or skinny, it doesn't matter. Beauty really does come from inside. Your personality, sense of humor and smarts will always carry you through even if your confidence needs some work. Hugs, ((((Sheri))))

you're too young for makeup, missy! ;)
when i was a kid i never got to learn how to play an instrument. i'm in college now and i've recently become a musician, taking lessons, and playing in bands. i promise you anything, the best guys love women who play music. you may hate that clarinet now--but it's great to know how to read music at age 11! you'll have a great background.
collaborating as a musician is one of the funnest things and a great way to meet wonderful people.
and i was just thinking yesterday how much i LOOOOOOOVE the clarinet! i promise you, if you develop your mind and heart and your interests, and follow what you believe in, you will be beautiful. i love hip-length shirts! i'm sure you're lovely!

you sound very pretty. the fact that you don't have a picture for me to see doesn't matter, cause beauty is within. i know you're beautiful because you love animals and your friends and family.
word of advice- don't play clarinet just because your parents make you! either learn to enjoy it, or learn to play another instrument you like better. your parents will be more proud of you if you are doing something you care about enough to excel in.

Beauty comes in different packages, it all depends in the person's ability to accept himself or herself.

She sounds goregous. :) But you guys shouldn't have to hear it from me or anyone else on the internet. Be confident in who you are, and you will be beautiful.
