I have a hpdeskjet5550 printer. I am really bad with computers so I don't know if it's the computer or the printer. When I have a purple heading it prints as bright blue. When I have a dark red heading it prints as bright red. The colour problems show when I check out the Print Preview though. This problem only applies to text, not graphics. I've been trying to change the colour settings on the "Advanced" tab but nothing is working. I have a WindowsXP. My cartriges match the printer. Don't know what to do and have a project due soon! (Sorry if this question is really dumb, I'm not a very technological person!) Thanks a lot!

Argh! I new I forgot something! I just installed a new cartridge...well at least a colour one. I'll install a new B&W one right now!

Unless you print almost every day, the nozzles get clogged. See if your printer has a tab for maintenance. There must be a way for you to clean the print head and nozzles.

On my HP, if I click to Print, there is a button for Properties.
click Properties, there are two tabs -- setup and services. On the services tab there is a button for toolbox. That's where you can do some cleaning.

the most possible error will be that your ink cartridge is finished atleast one of it. Otherwise install the following driver ArcPress printer engine. if your printer supports this driver it may print well.
