There are a few things that you should take note of, before and after the breast reduction surgery if you wish to prevent any unexpected mishaps. A breast reduction is usually considered a more serious surgical procedure than a simple augmentation with an implant and will usually require an overnight stay in the hospital. However, with the restrictions now being placed on hospitals by insurance companies, patients receiving reductions are quite often discharged the same day as surgery.

After your breast reduction surgery, your surgeon is likely to prescribe medication to help you deal comfortably with soreness and swelling. Within the first week, you will experience a certain amount of discomfort and you should expect swelling and bruising in the area. It will take several weeks before you can stop wearing a special support bra and for normal sensation to return to your nipples and for you to return to most normal activities and exercise. In a few months’ time, your breasts will settle into their new shape. Your scars will begin to fade and if you had been suffering from chronic back and neck pain, you will finally enjoy relief!

I don't know the cost, but alot of plastic surgeons have payment plan options. I am sure that it would hurt some.....They go in and remove tissue from your breast...however if they are so large that they cause shoulder or back problems then it is for the best.... to prevent future problems..Check out some of the plastic surgery sites they should have some useful info on them.....

Mine was $8,000 all covered by my insurance.

Why don't you have insurance?

I was in no pain, but I do know other women who were in a lot of pain.

You need to be out of work for two weeks, more if you are in an active physical position, since you will be on light duty for about a month, or until your incisions are closed.

Check out the link in my source. It has a FAQ forum for breast reductions that helped me out TONS.

You have decided to have breast reduction, technically known as, "REDUCTION MAMMOPLASTY".

You also do not have any Insurance cover and would like the costs to be minimum and the quality at its best.

Lady consider India as an option. For more information on breast reduction in India click the link below.

be careful and know the doctor that you are using. while i have never had one done i was a bra fitter for many years and seen a few women that where so happy to have it done until it came time to buy a new bra but now had to have them custom made because their breast where too small to fit anything on rack or in the catalog ( one lady was taken down to a cup but was 40 around).
