for better or for worse. through sickness and in health. for richer or poorer....its called vows. your question is vague it doesnt say what the illness is and how do we know if he can take care of your kids with his illness.

It doesn't sound like a choice. If he is too ill to work - how can he take care of the kids? If we could make it and our bills get paid - I would love to work and let my husband stay home. It would eliminate a lot of household duties for me. I don't know if I would want him responsible for the kids, though, if he's ill.

A few years ago, I was in a really bad accident where I was almost paralyzed in the accident, and I wasn't able to work for a couple years because if injuries from the accident, and my wife worked full time in a job providing for us. And I stayed home with the kids. And I know if that was the situation again, we would do it again.

Remember your vows: "In sickness and in health til death we do part." That is the answer there. I think it is all our responsibilities to give of ourselves completely to our loved ones in situations like this.. I am sure if this was reversed, he would do the same for you without question. Working you are benefiting your family, allowing your husband needed time with the children, the security your husband can feel knowing you are capable of taking care of things at hand is wonderful for the whole family.

I wouldn't mind that. If he's not able to work, what would you expect him to do? I married for better and for worse.
