I believe people persecute other groups because they are lacking something in themselves. Weather it be self confidence, self assurance or maybe it is just a psychological defect. I am not sure. However, I have said it before and I will say it again. People judged other by themselves.

Different groups of people have different values that validate and enforce their norms....then along comes group number 2 with different values and norms that violate those of group number one.....group number one either feels insulted, threatened, and/or that their norms and values are in danger....now group number one takes action in a variety of ways against group number 2
