A...it affects chromosome 21 and instead of there only being two chromosomes on segment 21 there are three (trisomy 21).. this is one cause of Down Syndrome.

Location tells where it is.

A piece of a chromosome went "across" to a new location.

A. translocation. Down syndrome (trisomy 21) isn't the only one. There are plenty and a lot of them don't have any effect on you or your children.
