Your baby probably won't do all these things — they're just clues to watch for.
• Can hold head up
• Sits well in highchair
• Makes chewing motions
• Shows significant weight gain (birth weight has doubled)
• Shows interest in food
• Can close mouth around a spoon
• Can move food from front to back of mouth
• Can move tongue back and forth, but is losing tendency to push food out with tongue
• Seems hungry after 8 to 10 feedings of breast milk or 40 oz. of formula in a day
• Is teething
What to feed
• Breast milk or formula, PLUS
• Semi-liquid iron-fortified rice cereal, THEN
• Other grain cereals like oats or barley How much per day
• Begin with about 1 teaspoon dry rice cereal mixed with 4 to 5 teaspoons breast milk or formula (it'll be very runny).
• Gradually thicken consistency and increase to 1 tablespoon dry cereal mixed with breast milk or formula, twice a day.
Feeding tips
• If your baby won't eat the cereal on the first try, offer it again in a few days.

I have a 14 month old and i baby sit a 6 month old. I only feed them cereal once a day. Usually at night before they go to bed is the best time. That will help them sleep longer through the night. I usually started out with about a 1/2 of cereal and see how things go. Also if you want to i would mix fruit with the cereal the babies tend to like it better a little sweeter. The cereals are so bland. As she learns to eat cereal she will eat more so when you feel she is ready gradually increase the amounts of cereal. stick to the rice cereal for now. it truly is the least confusing on the tummy. And it truly is going to be liberally "watered" down with formula or breast milk. progressively develop the consistency over some weeks. Feed it to her interior the morning in the previous the bottle. no greater effective than a million or 2 tablespoons. i might initiate with a million or maybe a million/2 just to get her started. She'll seize on quickly. Edit: whilst your lady might desire to have culmination by ability of 7 months or so, in case you upload it to the cereal just to get her to consume it, you're placing her up for under eating what tastes candy. Get it? She ought to reject different healthful ingredients by using fact they are no longer "candy sufficient".

She is still getting her nutrition from your milk. The cereal will take up room that could best be filled by the more valuable milk, so you're feeding her mainly to get her used to spoon feeding. Don't push it.

i would give it to her as much as she would take, she will be a better baby and it will cut the breast fedding down a hole lott.if she can keep it down i would give it to her every other fedding, but you need to fix it kinda thick so it will fill her up.she needs juice too.
