I'm at an Ivy League school now.
My SATs (old ones) were 1420. I know people with higher SATs that didn't get in, though.
I'd say shoot for at least 2150-2200 before you have a real shot

While the person currently in an Ivy League school is correct about what you will eventually need to achieve, you (and he) need to remember that being in middle school, you probably haven't been exposed to much of the material on the SAT in your classes yet. Given that, an 1810 is a terrific score (many students at acceptable colleges don't have scores that high). Congratulations on a great start, and it sounds to me like you will be where you want to be within a couple of years.

you need at least a 2300, but this still will not guarantee you in to an Ivy. The following are the basic things you'll need:
1: Become a phenomenal writer so that you ll have a convincing application essay
2: COMMUNITY SERVICE!!!!!
3: Master a unique talent. ie: master 200 bird sounds, beocme an award-winning citar player, etc.
4: Have leadership positions. ie. editor of newspaper, president of robotics club.
5: Take and ace all available AP and IB courses at your school.
6: Have great relations with your teachers and counselors so that they'll give you stellar recommendations.
7: Sometimes it also helps if you have a ritzy hobby such as golf, crew, or tennis---they like that.
8: Foster relations with admission officers and demonstrate keen interest in school about sophomore-junior year.
9: Demonstrate ability or interest in the major you choose. ie. If you want to be an engineer, join robotics team or take computer programming. If you want to be a doctor, volunteer at the hospital.

Well I wish it were that simple to get into an ivy league school. I had a 1260 out of 1600 (math and reading) and I didn't get accepted into Cornell. However, my class valedictorian, who had a perfect 1600 on his SAT's did not get in either. For an ivy league school you need at least what I had, but preferably closer to somewhere around a 1400, among many other things. Having a sport you are really good at, as well as impressive community service and extracurriculars will go a long way. Good luck!

and oh, remember that your score alone will not get you into an ivy league school! you must have extra-curricular things....hobbies....and interstests that make you an intersting candidate....as well as wealthy parents! lol, just kidding.
my parents both attended ivy league schools for undergrad and graduate studies (masters and law school). i scored quite well on the old test (1800=perfect) and had them as alumni relatives....but I didnt get in. the most important factor is how many other applicants there are in the same year...and how they did on tests, grades and extras.
make yourself a well-rounded individual and study!
