Even if you are currently doing well without having to study very hard, it is a good idea. You want to get into a mode in which studying comes naturally, because as the material becomes more and more challenging, you are sure to hit a point at which you will need to spend time studying, and this is easier if it is already a habit for you.

It is great that you are ambitious, but you will have to take all of the prerequisit courses in college anyway and you don't get many breaks. If you feel you will need the head start to do well in chemistry and calculus and biology then go for it. But otherwise, I would say enjoy your summer to avoid burnout. Unless your memory of this stuff will serve you until the end of sophmore year, it probably won't make that much of a difference on MCAT (note, MCAT scores are only valid for two years, so if you take it before summer after sophmore year, you will have to take it again to apply for med school and you can only take it twice).

The best thing to do is just take some pre-med courses at a junior college, if you decide that you still like medical transfer to a senior university to get you degree. Some Medical Schools will accept you with only 90 semester hours, so you don't necessarily need to get your Undergraduate degree, but it sure helps.

well, it's great that you want to get a head start... but who knows? three years from now you may have lost interest in the medical field. It might be a good idea to look at these books, but don't spend too much time studying because you never know what will happen as you go to college.
