is winstons fate inevitable from the start??
i really need help with this essay i dont have much on it

I would say yes, the whole purpose of 1984 is to put on evidence the vulnearability of men under a strict government.
No matter how brave or rebel you are, in the end u will be just like everyone else, following the "rules"
From the beginning we can see the use of camaras and spies, this means that it would be like really difficult to not end like the others.
Ideologies are the best way to maniplate people, especially if they know their fears, in this case, like the rats.
This is all i have to say, i hope it helps in your essay. Just for curiosity... are u too doing the ib?

Unfortunately the answer must be an unequivocal "YES"! The futility of His existence was the precursor to His abysmal decline after the hiatus of love and self awareness that He briefly experienced. Remember how the two reacted towards each other when they met after their "re-education" ?
