I think there is a form your pediatrician fills out telling WIC you require a different formula. Ask your pediatrician...they would know for sure.
Hope baby does better!

My baby was on that for a while. All you have to do is get a prescription from your doctor with an eding date. For example, my daughters presc. was for 6 months. Give it to the WIC office and your in business. And no, medicaid does not pay for it. The only formula medicaid pays for is the Neocate and Neosure kinds. You have to order those...I know this because my daughter is now on that! If you little boy still has blood in his stool after a few weeks, they will probably put him on that. Hope you have medicaid because that stuff is 50 dollars a can!

If you have WIC then they should cover the nutramigen. Just call and make an appointment and have a note or something from the doctor saying that he needs that certain milk. My sister has WIC and her daughter needed it and they covered it. Good luck.

ok I am in texas and my friends son just got put on nutramigen and WIC will cover it here. She had to get a special form from the office and take it to the dr to fill out. so if your in tx i know for sure it is covered! good luck
Oh and it stinks bad and your baby may have trouble switching to it. If he still has blood in his stool you may need to take him to a g.i. specialist he may have a milk protien allergy. my son has that and has to be on a formula more expensive than nutramigen.

I believe that WIC does provide this but you need to get a prescription from the doctor. Otherwise WIC will just issue you the vouchers for the regular Similac.

Nutramigen is a very expensive formula. WIC will not provide it. However, a prescription from your pediatrician might help. Without it, you have will have no help from WIC.

WIC does provide these special formulas but you will have to get a paper from the doctor outlining the need for it.

WIC covers it because it's a specialized formula that's medically necessary. Your doctor needs to fill out a WIC form and once you submit the form they will cover it.

It is different in every state really. I live in PA but moved to MN and had to change my sons formula because they didn't have Similac with iron. Really stupid I think. They should all carry the same thing. Sorry I couldn't be much help but you could ask your WIC represenative.
