What is a proper way to dispose of an American flag w/o ruining the old glory reputation??

Contact your local American Legion post. I've witnessed a few ceremonial flag retirings performed by them. There is a proper procedure for burning the flag.

Give the flag to the VFW,American Legion,or theDisabled Veterans of America. They will dispose of it properly. At my VFW post we collect flags and then have the boy scouts and cub scouts hold a flag burning ceromony. It helps teach the young ones about patriotism,and respect for the flag.

I do, you render it unrecognizable as a flag then burn it, yet an extra handy way is to show it over on your community VFW or American Legion placed up. they have a ceremony they conflict through in the previous hand. you have a stable day now

Find your local Boy Scout Troop. They will be glad to do and they always do it right. The correct phrase is "retiring" the flag. The Scouts like the opportunity to be of community service. Look in the phone book and find the local office of the BSA and they will direct you to a Troop in your neighborhood.

Its weird, the official way to dispose of the flag is to burn it...but you have to follow the proper procedure or people will call you a flag burner.
you have to fold it into a triangle and then burn it...i dunno google it
