I have 2 vehicles and one battery. I was switching the battery out back and forth one day and when i put the battery in my van i messed up and hooked the terminals up to the wrong posts. Did i just fry the battery or what else could wrong? Im not usually that stupid....just for the record.

i havent touched the vehicle in almost 2 years as i am in iraq. i just want to get an idea of what i might need to get it running when i get home

You didn't do it any good. But what is the problem now? You didn't say. You could have burned up a lot of your electronics and your alternator and voltage regulator. Not a good thing.

Check your fusible links. these will usually blow first in the event of a wrong connection. These are usually located in a box under the hood, or they are actual wires, depending on your vehicle type.

your battery is fried. do like i always do and learn from the mistake.
