her mom and dad were pet store bettas. dad was a short tail and when flared it was almost a halfmoon but he only had 2 rays. dad's colour was purple red

so when i breed them i want to know what is the out come... will any of the youngs be super deltas? and what is the possible colours what they will have?

The percentage that will be super delta tail is fairly easy to predict, basically 0. Tail sizes and shapes are dominant / reccessive like colors. They are built on a large set of genes and can be anything in between the standard shapes. Unless you bring two with very similar tails together, you will mostly get stuff in the middle, so no super deltas and no halfmoons, those will be diluted and lost in the mix.

As for colors, red is dominant over most everything else and will be in the mix for most all of your fish. Blue is next in line for your colors and will show on the vast majority of the ofspring as well. Non-red (yellow) is the least dominamnt of the colors you have and will only show on a few fish and even then as a darker "muddy" yellow where is mixes with red or something approaching green in the places it hits the blue.

You certain won't get any show stopping fish from this mix. I would recommend finding a different male for that female or a different female to go with that male.

It's really hard to tell though there can be so many different possibilities. All I can say is that they will come out very nice colors.

Don't get too wrapped up in ruining these animals lives; they don't enjoy being mutated and imprisoned in a tiny container of water for your enjoyment. They belong in tropical rivers, where they are free; especially free of experimenters with their lives.
