My favorite guitarist is one who gets overlooked a lot of the time. Matthias Jabs of the Scorpions, he is awesome, just listen to any Scorpions' song guitar solo and you'll understand why. Those solos, although mostly written by Rudolf Schenker, made Matthias electrifying. He had a way of playing that, along with Klaus Meine's vocals, made the Scorpions sound distinctive and classic. Another great guitarist is Akira Takasaki from Loudness, it is not an overstatement to call him a guitar virtuoso, he was an excellent shredder, and I love that classic 80's metal sound. These guys get overlooked and forgotten, and I don't know why, because they are definitely two of the best guitarists in metal. They deserve a lot more recognition for their amazing talent.
