Probably not, not enough of the American people actually keep a deep sense of current event's in the world. Besides direct democracy is an idea that can only be implemented if every single person is extermely smart and informed.

Good lord no. That would require near-daily voting. Only the true fanatics and the blue-haired old ladies would vote.

No. I don't have time to go into DC and vote every day.
