it depends, if they are homeless like those from war of the world, then no that would be a bad thing. if they are like ET just holiday makers, then that would be awesome.

i would think overall it would be a good think, because it would unite us all if they are like war of the world, and gives us hope for a better world if they are like ET.

It depends on how accepting and understanding we are at the time. I think that the time will be a good deal of hastle, because no matter what will transpire, you will have a hoarde of religious fanatics claiming that the aliens are their god, and extremists provoking riots, killing people, trying to start wars.

I think it will just be a bad impression on the aliens to see what kind of people we are, and how unintelligent we seem in person. Perhaps they would wish they stuck with observing from a distance than go through all that hastle.

I apologise as well, but any link with the words "star trek," and "friendster" I find a little ludicrouos to visit.

Based on the experience of the American Indians, I would say very bad for humans.

But why would presumably intelligent aliens visit Earth? The asteroid belt is a much friendlier place -- light gravity, all those different ores with easy access, a good safe distance from the hot sun, no arguments with pesky humans and their lawyers, etc.

How could anyone possibly know the answer to that question? Aliens are different than humans, and have had different experiences because they have not lived here. Some might like us and some may not like us. It's the same way with people you meet. Some are good and some are bad.

Hmmmmm this is tough to say but it depends on the nature of the alien. 1St if they can reach earth from other galaxies means we HUMAN are technologically outdated.2nd if alien visit our plant and the have the nature of T rex and evolution of dinosaur or other fierce creatures may god have mercy on us. And we too are isolated so they have to find ur 1st

What will most likely happen is that the aliens will be microscopic organisms without intelligence, but adapted to space environment. All-in-all, it would be a good thing because we would know there is life in space.

It would be bad.

It has nothing to do with the alien.

We are the bad ones. We'd probably shoot first, shoot again, shoot some more until only dust remains, and then don't even bother to ask questions.

We would then set up security screening for anyone looking through telescopes or even wanting to go out at night.

We'd eventually scare ourselves back to the stone age... what? oh yes, we are already working on that.

They will be millions or billions of years ahead of us, technologically and spiritually. They will be immortal and may no longer be flesh and blood; they may be totally AI or some mix of flesh and silicon AI. There is NOTHING on this little out of the way world that we can offer them that they cannot harvest much easier closer to where they live and for much less energy. We have nothing to fear from them, the only reason we might interest them is for study.

I did see a alien craft at the same time as i became youthful. I felt exceedingly extremely calm. i did not see extraterrestrial beings, merely the spacecraft and there became no way it turned right into a synthetic merchandise. It became far too huge and quickly. notwithstanding if i genuinely said extraterrestrial beings i ought to assert i ought to sense a blend of shock, caution and exhilaration.
