if your gonna cook on a gas grill, you may as well cook in the house, the charcoal grill makes everything taste much better, we have a very expensive gas grill cuz i thought it would be sooo much more convient, we only use the big smoker charcoal grill we have

We use hardwood charcoal when we grill. It's made from a renewable resource (scrap lumber, mostly), and has none of the chemicals that the briquets have, so you're getting all the flavor of the food. Gas is great, but is so volatile that in the rare event of a leak, it would be a disaster. (Where I used to live, a little old lady went to church of a Wednesday morning. When she returned home, her house was no more than splinters, because some idiot using a backhoe hadn't checked with the gas company, and had ruptured a gas main.)

gas is for a more consistent cooking surface, but charcoal is better for the back-yard cook out feel and taste (and price!). You can be fancy and use a combination of the two for the charcoal taste in an even cooking.

I personally like charcoal because it gives the meat a nice smokey flavor. Its not very convenient and takes a while for it to get ready but the flavor is worth it.
