They can't admit a Republican is right! If they did that, they would be wrong! They would just rather keep hating. Hate to them, feels better than saying "I was wrong."
Besides, I think it might kill them.

you're assuming, of course, that democrats will still be in the majority after the next election, perhaps in the presidency. This is not a sure thing. Democrats do have a plan for the War on Terror, and it doesn't differ by very much (if you go for mainstream candidates) from the Bush plan. Gradual withdrawal of troops from Iraq, smarter tactics in Afghanistan, etcetera. Republicans will do the same thing, and I know that. The fact is that the entire Middle East policy needs a drastic change. Dems and Republicans have to stop backing Sunni terrorists (mostly from Saudi Arabia) and stop backing dictators. You'd think they'd learn that after Reagan financed al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein, but they haven't.

Well, as much as I don't love President Bush, I think the reason he gets no credit is that Americans (Dems, people in general) wanted the President to produce something solid. Homeland security, alert system, catching terrorists that's great and all, but did doing those actions really prevent something (such as 911) from happening? To the public eye all those "helpful" (once again, I'm not saying they're not great , only that we won't know if it was ever worth it) additions only hinder transportation, remind people of McCarthyism etc.
Most (Americans) want to see something solid from the government and so far, the adminsitration has produced: bad economy (especially relative to Clinton years), rising gas prices, deaths in Iraq and lies (to get into Iraq reminiscent of Vietnam where there was no real benefit and the odds seemed to be in the U.S's favor).

I feel the same way about this issue as well. Sure President Bush has his faults, who expected him to be perfect. I may not agree with everything that he is doing, but I still support him. The was a Presidential Address marking the third anniversary of the Iraq war where he listed the positive things that have happened. Most people in our country like to complain and moan and groan, and look at the negative.
At my University more and more people are joining the ROTC who plan on pursuing at career in the military. It has gone up 40% since the beginning of the war, and it keep growing. So much good has happened during the course of the war as well as the negative and bad.
Many of my friends back home have become soldiers and they are so dishearten when they hear people bash the war. They begin to question whether or not people are supporting them and if they are fighting and dying in vain. I think it is time we start supporting things rather than bashing them every chance that we get.

Here's the deal - start with a man who runs a vicious lying campaign in 2000, who arguably steals the election, including by sending thugs down to florida to violently stop a recount, and who begins his administration by letting the oil companies write his energy bill (you may recall enron's theft of billions from california, under bush's watch?) and you aren't gonna have many thinking people happy with him.
You think trappings of the police state are a good thing? Oh, now I get it - Surely this must be a joke. Like the idea that the criminal enterprise bush runs will go down in history as anything other than the very worst, bar none, 8 years in american history.

Bush does not have any success in any of the categories you listed that were of his own doing.
1 Homeland security- Bush designed this to be a go between for the all the intelligence of the country. Then why is the intelligence on Iraq's WMD production faulty? It was also supposed to ensure our safety from invading threats, yet the Mexican and Canadian borders are as open as a convenience store. In fact, the store is better prepared because they have cameras and do prosecute people who break in.
2. An alert system- This was a system designed for bells and whistles. It was put into place to help Americans understand when there is a potential threat. However, the Bush administration keeps the level at elevated and higher. After 6 years, people have grown complacent with the alert system. Besides, people don't wait for the color to change, they instead watch the news to help determine potential threats.
3. New metal detectors, bomb sniffing dogs, etc.- What did you expect the airline companies to do after 911? They certainly weren't going to put their hands in the air and say to the public "We did the best we can. We think the current system is working fine." Their prime objective for installing that equipment was to make the American consumer feel safer so that they would continue to fly. That and because insurance rates would go through the roof is they had not instituted it.
4. Terrorists caught before they did their dirty deed- Name one instance where anything that the Bush Administration instituted was directly responsible for thwarting another terrorist attack. From what I have seen, Britain has stopped two major terrorist attacks that would have affected us. The Bush Administration has only come in at the last minute to claim partial credit for stopping them. Another example would be Richard Reed (the shoe bomber), he got on to the plane. The only ones who stopped him were the passengers on the plane when they saw him try to light his shoes on fire. He circumvented all the security at the airport and it was left up to the watchful eye of citizens to capture him.
6. The Patriot Act- Again nothing in the Patriot Act has lead to law enforcement thwarting anything of any significance. The British don't have a Patriot Act and they have stopped two major threats. The Patriot Act has managed to polarize this nation. Many Americans view the act as a threat instead of a tool, especially since this administration prefers to hide behind it everytime they do something questionable.
7. Stopping the funneling of terrorist money- Wrong. They are still getting money from us. When the finance faucet was shut off at one point, they simply went to another and turned it on. They are laundering money from sympathizers in this country and from around the globe. If someone from this country wants to get money to the terrorists, all they have to do is set up an overseas account and a dummy organization.
8. Military supplies were at record lows- Yeah they were. Because we were at the most prosperous peace time in history. Besides, I do remember the first Bush signing a long list of base closures in the waning moments of his Presidency. Clinton did cut spending during his tenure, but at the time, the country was not fighting any major threats and had its focus on paying down debts, which Bush has managed to gain back plus more.
9. The qucik stabilization of our economy- The consumer has kept this economy from going belly up. The consumer has amassed huge amounts of credit debt which has kept this economy up. Everything the Bush Administration has done has only been to hurt the economy. Bush has paved the way for a large amount of outsourcing which has lead to loses of American jobs and business. He has also authorized incredible amounts of loans being taken from foreign countries and the World Bank at astronomical interest rates. The value of the dollar has weakened in the past 7 years because of this rampant and unchecked spending. He has also overseen the largest trade deficit increase in history. All of this will catch up to the economy in a short time. The Dow Jones and its problems with the mortgage sector are the evidence of the consumers using every amount of credit and spending to maintain this economy.
Again, any success that we have seen over the past 7 years have not been because of Bush and his policies, but rather because of our foreign allies and despite most of his policies. The only thing Bush deserves is a bill to pay back all the taxpayers that have paid for his salary and expenses over the past 7 years. And then maybe an eviction notice to get out of the White House.

That answer is a easy one
they can't because bush isn't a democrat
IF Bush was a democrat
he could take us to war
cheat on his wife
make his wife abort a baby
and use illegal drugs and run from the draft and be respected
but since Bush is not a democrat.... he will never succeed...(in a liberal or democratic perspective)

Liberalism by it's basic roots, is diametrically opposed to any action taken by a conservative. In contrast, a conservative must be diametrically opposed to any action taken by a lib. Hense, synthesis! Unfortunitely, we have evolved to a low level where we have, conservative libs, liberal conserves???? the water is so muddy, that they all smell like month old sardines, left in the sun!!!!!!
