Also can someone tell me where I can look for this type of info.

I know it has something to do with the mg/mL ratio. And I want to learn how to do this type of problem on my own.

Look at the structure of succinic acid, with all its -OH groups, and then the structure of hexane, with none. That particular acid will be much more soluble in a solvent which can hydrogen-bond. Hexane can't do that.
