The judges just praise Melinda Doolittle. Frankly, I think she sucks. My vote is on Jordin Sparks. She at least has a neck.

The thing I can't stand about Melinda is how she reacts to compliments. At first, because of her history as a background singer, her reactions were true and genuine. But now... she knows she's good. She's told so every week. So keeping up this surprised "oh my god really" thing is getting quite annoying. Be proud of the talent you have, not surprised that you have it.
I don't think she should win... she'll do fine without the Idol record deal.

Melinda and Lakeisha should not be on American Idol. 13-15 year old girl don't know true talent. These women need deals which they are going to get. Obviously if Sanjaya is still on AI then America is voting on popularity not talent. Melinda isn't a AI selection, she is a professional singer who isn't the category of the pop singer. Album quality will tell the truth. Hell, Daughtry is platinum and he came in 4th.

I don't like Melinda's style, I have never enjoyed black women's voices (please don't call me racist, cuz I'm not! Just don't like the style) but I am a big enough person to say that Melinda does have a good singing voice. She comes out on stage with confidence and acts like a star-which is what the judges like to see. I do think she's good, but I don't vote for her. I like Blake!

I think Melinda is a great singer, but what's up with her NECK? Or lack thereof. I mean, the woman has NO NECK. At all. None. The website has baby pictures, and hers is easy. It's the kid with NO NECK. I don't want to sound mean, especially because she can't help it, but that really bothers me for some reason.

You are crazy! You and some of the people answering this are judging Melinda by her looks and personality, not her voice. American Idol is about MUSIC and she sings AMAZINGLY!

I really like both of them...Jordan is amazing -her voice is strong and crystal clear!
Melinda - she is humble and adorable and has a really beautiful voice.

Sanjaiya looks like a monkey and I don't like him at all.... I love Chris-R and Blake though.... Melinda is ok I think but I don't think she is winning material..

I think she's good...it's just annoying how she looks surprised everytime when they give her a compliment...yeah Jordin is really good! My favorite is Blake though! :)
