Im looking for something light weight that actually suck the life out of the carpet and that;ll actually suck dirt off the carpet. I know there's different setting to set on the vaccuum but it doesnt work that well. Anyone out there has one that works this way or im just dreaming??? please let me know

Your machine would be a Kirby if your wanting power and durability, the Kirby allows you to set the right height level and also is a complete home care system. It will last you 25 to 30 years. You get what you pay for, cheap may sound good, but they are the highest vacuum cleaners out there. Who likes throwing money away? That is what happens with the plastic. The amps is all we pull out of a wall. If your going to buy plastic, all of them work the same. Been doing this job for almost 7 years, and do a test on everyone in a home and believe me the plastic are all the same.

Kirby by far! It is heavy dont let that full you it is a machine that does its job and will last forever mine is 1985 model and I clean houses for a living seriously! It has an automatic on it pulls is self very easy to operate heavy to carry if have to go upstairs but worth it! I will not use a customers period will not work twice or 3 times as long to do a half way job. They can be completly tore down and cleaned do every job you can imagine and the best part is they are not plastic! I should sell these vacuums that is how much I believe in them. I have seen the Dyson for 500 dollars thats great but it is a big peice of plastic!

Of all of the vacuums I've owned, I liked the Panasonic the best. Unfortunately, even it didn't stand up to my 6 and 8 year old jumping around ON TOP of it.

This is the model I had:

The review "Happiness Is!" at the bottom of the page is mine. :)

This may sound silly, everytime my vacuum cleaners goes on the blink, I always drag out my reliable 10 gallon shop vac. It really sucks. That is a SHOP_VAC.
